The International Academic Association on Planning, Law, and Property Rights (PLPR) organised its 16th annual conference last 4th-8th of July 2022 which took place in Ghent (Belgium).Ā
The event was hosted by Faculty of Architecture of KU Leuven,Ā the Faculty of Law and Criminology of Ghent University, andĀ Department of Real Estate, Brokerage and Land Surveying of HOGENT.Ā
It was a great opportunity to present scholarship covering a broad array of topics residing at the intersection of planning, law, and/or property rights (such as land use regulation and governance, regional and local planning, urban development, etc.).
Professor Willem Korthals & PhD researcher Maarten Koreman (Tu Delft) each presented a paper at the Conference celebrated in Ghent. Maarten KoremanĀ“s presentation was titled āRedeveloping empty farm stables for commercial purposes: examples from the Netherlandsā and Willem Korthals talked about āInequality of farmland holdings: issues of quality of government, rurality, ownership and the EU common agricultural policyā.Ā
