As you may know, since 25 May 2018 the new EU General Data Protection Regulation (hereinafter GDPR) has become applicable.

The GDPR imposes an obligation of transparency, which is to provide data subjects with detailed information on the processing of their personal data.

By subscribing to the RURALIZATION newsletter and registering to meetings or events, you will send us your e-mail (which is compulsory) and other information which is not compulsory, and we wish to inform you beforehand how it will be used.

Therefore, in compliance with the GDPR, we inform you that Consulta Europa Projects and Innovation, as partner in charge of the RURALIZATION communication and dissemination activities, will process your data lawfully and fairly, only where necessary, using paper and electronic means, adopting adequate technical and organisational security measures, only for the purpose of sending you the newsletter as well as specific announcements of project activities (invitation to events, workshops, etc.) and to provide statistics on the overall number of users registered, the type of organizations reached and the countries of belonging of the organizations.

Your data will be processed by duly authorised Consulta Europa Projects and Innovation employees and collaborators, as well as by RURALIZATION partners and some external suppliers (e.g. providers of hosting services), and will not be used for sending commercial communications or for profiling purposes.

You may exercise your rights at any time in accordance with the GDPR, such as requesting access to data, correcting them if there are errors, deleting them (e.g. if they are no longer necessary), processing limitation and portability, as well as filing a complaint with the Supervisory Authority.

Regarding the subscription to our newsletter, the following data are collected:

  • Name and Surname (not compulsory)
  • Affiliation (Organization you represent or belong to) - (not compulsory)

WHAT WILL HAPPEN WITH MY DATA?
PURPOSES OF THE PROCESSING FOR WHICH THE PERSONAL DATA ARE INTENDED

Concerning the personal data provided to subscribe to the newsletter, the data provided will be only processed for the purpose of sending you the RURALIZATION Newsletter, as well as specific announcements of project activities (invitation to events, workshops, etc). Your contact details will not be used in any other context without asking your consent before.

For the registration to meetings and events, personal data will be used for the purpose of sending you relevant project information and specific announcements of project activities and for related statistics. Your contact details will not be used in any other context without asking your consent before. Regarding the data that will be produced, take in mind that:

  • The video and/or audio recordings and any reproduction shall remain the property of the author and the RURALIZATION project may use the image as it sees it.
  • The images may appear publicly as part of the project website, social media communications and/or other marketing materials related to the project. 
  • The material will be used in a legitimate manner and is not intended to cause any harms or undue embarrassment to the parties involved.
  • Consent will be asked to use the participant's image, voice or both by the project (signature or registration form required).

WHAT IS THE LEGAL BASIS FOR THE PROCESSING?

The legal basis for the processing of your personal data is your express consent, as foreseen by art. 6, par. 1, lett. a) of the GDPR.

WHO WILL HAVE ACCESS TO MY DATA? RECIPIENTS OR CATEGORIES OF RECIPIENTS OF YOUR PERSONAL DATA

Beside Consulta Europa Projects and Innovation S.L., some other subjects will have access to your personal data, insofar as it is needed to manage the newsletter and related project activities (meetings and events). This will happen in full compliance with applicable laws and regulations at EU and national level. These subjects include: - Technology providers (i.e. hosting service providers, mailing service providers) - Competent authorities in charge of monitoring the project (i.e. the European Commission). - In compliance with the data minimisation principle, the other RURALIZATION partners will not receive your personal data, unless they need to be involved in the management of the RURALIZATION newsletter and related project activities.

WILL MY DATA BE EXPORTED OUTSIDE THE EU? OR TO INTERNATIONAL ORGANISATIONS?

No, your personal data will not be transferred outside the European Union or to international organisations.

HOW LONG WILL MY PERSONAL DATA BE KEPT? PERIOD FOR WHICH THE PERSONAL DATA WILL BE STORED

Your personal data will be kept by Consulta Europa Projects and Innovation until you decide to unsubscribe. In case you maintain your subscription active for the whole duration of the project, your e-mail will be kept until 6 months after project end, meaning 31st October 2023. In any case, your data will be stored for no longer than necessary in consideration of the purposes for which they have been processed.

WHAT ARE MY RIGHTS? RIGHTS OF THE DATA SUBJECT

As data subject, you have all the rights specified in sections 2, 3 and 4 of Chapter III of the GDPR. In particular, you have the following rights:

    • to request from the controller access to and rectification or erasure of personal data or restriction of processing;
    • to object to processing;
    • to request data portability;
    • to withdraw consent at any time, without affecting the lawfulness of processing based on consent before its withdrawal;
    • to lodge a complaint with the competent Supervisory Authority. You also have the right to unsubscribe from our database at any time without any prejudice. These rights can be exercised by writing to the Data Protection Officer at the contacts indicated above.

AM I OBLIGED TO PROVIDE MY PERSONAL DATA? CAN I REFUSE?

Providing the requested personal data is necessary to subscribe to the RURALIZATION newsletter and project announcements. If you fail to provide the required data, it will be not possible for you to receive the project information.

AUTOMATED DECISION-MAKING
No automated decision will be made based on your personal data collected for the RURALIZATION project.
